Non-Alignment Pact

“So even though there’s too much Radio Ethiopia and not enough Redondo Beach” – Christgau on The Modern Dance by Pere Ubu.

So right. When this band rocks, it’s like a spinning top or a gyroscope. When they sputter, it sounds like bad art. Luckily, it rocks with frequency. When it sounds like Redondo Beach, I am dancing. There are slow builds, chaotic guitar shrieks, broken glass sounds, broken instrument sounds. I’m finding myself attracted to less accessible music every day.

  1. Dude it rules you play Pere Ubu. I will make sure to tune into your show just for that. And to think I was the only one who loved the modern dance and dub housing. YES!!!
